HerpAlert Begins Offering Diagnostics Through Partnership with TBD Health, Launches At-Home Herpes Testing Kit
    img

HerpAlert, a telehealth leader in Herpes diagnosis and treatment, has partnered with TBD Health, a nationwide sexual health and at-home testing platform, to launch diagnostics and at-home testing from its website including a new Herpes 1 & 2 test. This collaboration aims to provide individuals with a convenient, private, and accurate way to test for herpes simplex virus (HSV-1 and HSV-2) and other STDs to access timely treatment options.

This partnership reflects the shared commitment of TBD Health and HerpAlert to expand access to sexual health care while reducing stigma around herpes diagnosis and treatment. With millions of people affected by HSV in the US, the new testing kit offers an important tool for detection and management.

“Herpes is one of the most common sexually transmitted infections, yet it remains misunderstood and stigmatized,” said Daniel Uchitel, Founder and CEO at HerpAlert. “Our partnership with TBD Health empowers individuals by providing them with the diagnostic tools they need to take control of their health in a compassionate and judgment-free environment.”

    Key Features of the Partnership:

    • Launch of the At-Home Herpes 1 & 2 Test: The test is only available on HerpAlerts website and allows users to collect samples discreetly at home and send them to TBD Health’s CLIA-certified labs for analysis. Results are delivered securely within 2–3 days.
    • Telehealth Services: Patients who test positive can connect directly with licensed clinicians on HerpAlert’s platform for consultations and prescription treatments.
    • Nationwide Accessibility: The testing kit is available across the U.S., except in New York state, with discreet shipping options. It is HSA/FSA eligible. Educational Resources: Both organizations will collaborate on campaigns to educate the public about herpes prevention, diagnosis, and treatment options.

“At TBD Health, we believe that everyone deserves access to stigma-free sexual health care,” said Co-CEO Stephanie Estey at TBD Health. “By partnering, we’re combining our expertise in diagnostics with their trusted telemedicine platform to create a seamless experience for patients seeking herpes testing and treatment.”

Meeting a Growing Need for Sexual Health Solutions The launch of this new service comes at a time when STD rates continue to rise in the U.S., highlighting the urgent need for accessible testing and treatment options. By leveraging technology and patient-centric solutions, HerpAlert and TBD Health are addressing critical gaps in sexual health care.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), about one in eight persons in the United States has genital HSV-2 infection; however, as many as 90 percent are unaware that they have the virus.

The at-home Herpes Testing Kit will be available starting April 11, 2025, on HerpAlert’s website. For more information about this partnership or to order a kit, visit www.herpalert.com or www.tbd.health.
